Pace Fuelcare donation helps Dunkeswell Heritage centre get off to a flyer

April 2014

The Dunkeswell Heritage Centre on Dunkeswell Airfield, Honiton, is sure to have a smooth take-off, following a donation from Pace Fuelcare.

The national fuel and lubricant distributor donated £250 to the centre, following an application from project leader and manager, Brian Lane Smith.

Dunkeswell Heritage Centre is set to display more than 800 records and photographs of the US Army Air Force and US Navy personnel stationed there during World War II, documenting their everyday lives. The donation from Pace Fuelcare will help towards setting up displays to show newsreels and other records in an interactive way.

Brian said: “This kind donation from Pace Fuelcare will help us preserve the memory of the personnel who served at the Dunkeswell Airfield, so future generations can appreciate how they contributed towards the war effort.

“The interactive displays should make visiting the Dunkeswell Heritage Centre an educational and immersive experience.”

Steve Morgan, regional manager at Pace Fuelcare, said: “This donation was made as part of our commitment to enriching people’s lives in the communities we serve. The Dunkeswell Airfield is a site of real historical significance and we were happy to help preserve it for local people to enjoy for many years to come.”
